Céline Dion has one of the most recognizable and greatest voices in pop music. Throughout her nearly 30-year career, the 51-year-old singer has wowed fans with big, powerful ballads like "My Heart Will Go On" and "Because You Loved Me." And though Dion's dealt with some unfortunate situations in her life, including the 2016 death of her husband and manager, René Angélil, she remains an inspiration to her fans, just like these 15 motivational songs we've listed below.

"Because You Loved Me"

Written by Diane Warren, this emotional ballad was featured on Dion's 1996 album, Falling Into You, and it was the theme song for the 1996 movie Up Close and Personal. Warren's inspiration for the song was her dad.
"The song became personal at the same time that it was telling the story of the film," Warren explained in the book, Chicken Soup For the Soul: The Story Behind The Song. "Once I began, it became a way of thanking my dad for everything he did for me and the support he has always given me."

Dion opens her multiplatinum project Falling into You with this epic track. Its subject matter is a bit dark in tone, with Dion ruminating over a long lost love throughout the thunderous song. But in 2018, Applebee's thought it was the perfect song to use in a commercial for their all-you-can-eat riblets and tenders.

"The Power of Love"

"The Power of Love" (or what is commonly referred to as "I'm Your Lady") is a grower, partly because Dion is more restrained vocally here than she is on the other stirring, power ballads on this list. And though you may think Dion is singing about her own relationship, the emotional song is actually a cover that was originally released by Jennifer Rush in 1984. But the track clearly has lasting power, as Dion has performed it at her Las Vegas residency. It's also used as the title for her upcoming 2020 biopic.

"Where Does My Heart Beat Now"

An oldie but goodie, this contemporary song appeared on Dion's first English-language album, Unison, in 1990. Even at the age of 22 and singing in a non-native language, "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" demonstrated her potential.

"My Heart Will Go On"

Considered to be Dion's signature song, this love theme song is just as cinematic as the 1997 film in which it appears. Fans of James Cameron's Titanic movie will remember hearing this classic ballad as the credits roll. "My Heart Will Go On" went on to win an Oscar and two Grammys.

"That's the Way It Is"

Dion strayed away from the ballad route with this upbeat single from her 1999 greatest hits album, All the Way…A Decade of Song. The anthemic, feel-good song still, however, has the powerful lyrics Dion is known for singing.

"If You Asked Me To"

Before "Because You Loved Me," Dion and Warren teamed up to release this 1992 single. The queen of covers, Dion actually recorded her version after Patti LaBelle's original in 1989. Even though the song was featured on the soundtrack for the '89 James Bond film, License to Kill, LaBelle's version didn't achieve the same success on the charts as Dion's.

"Beauty and the Beast"

Having a big, strong voice like Dion comes with perks, such as the fact that her songs will probably be included on many movie soundtracks. Disney actually picked Dion and R&B artist Peabo Bryson's duet to close out the credits of its 1991 animated film, Beauty and the Beast. The original version was sung in the movie by British-American actress Angela Lansbury. Dion later included it on her self-titled album in 1992.

"A New Day Has Come"

This vocally-layered radio hit sees Dion experimenting more with her voice and live instrumentation. It's one of Dion's edgier records. She released the 2012 album of the same name and the titular track after taking a two-year hiatus to give birth to her son René-Charles.

"Misled"

"Misled" was the third single from 1994's The Colour of My Love album. The song is one of the few in her extensive catalog that could be considered a "dance record," and it even topped the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for two weeks.

This infectious love song was originally made famous by the legendary Cyndi Lauper in 1989, and Dion released her cover of it on her 2003 album One Heart. Not coincidentally, the song was also featured in a series of Chrysler car commercials in 2004.

"All By Myself"

Dion's 1996 cover of Eric Carmen's melancholy ballad is as timeless as "My Heart Will Go On." It appeared on her Falling Into You album, and is considered to be one of her most revered covers by her longtime fans. Why? Because of the climactic note she holds near the end of the song.

Another dance favorite, "(If There Was) Any Other Way" is the perfect kiss-off song for an ex-lover. It was featured on her 1990 album, Unison.

The hot streak between Dion and Warren continued with Dion's 1992 single from her self-titled album. The song is originally six minutes long, but was shortened for the aspirational Shakespeare-themed video.
