Game Guides , Runescape
This guide will assume that you have a pretty good understanding about Runescapes mechanics and items, so it will not extensively cover everything. Please let us know if you want more extensive guides or short format guides.
Most Important Items
In Runescape 3, there are a lot of Items that will actually boost your experience per hour or provide all kinds of benefit when you are training a skill, here are the most important ones for Summoning:
Shaman’s Outfit
Shaman’s outfit gives a flat experience boost when worn. You can obtain the set by participating in the mini game Familiarisation. This set is a must to obtain for the long run of Summoning training.
Shaman’s headdress - 1% EXP Boost
Shaman’s poncho - 1% EXP Boost
Shaman’s leggings - 1% EXP Boost
Shaman’s hand wraps - 1% EXP Boost
Shaman’s moccasins - 1% EXP Boost
Set Bonus - 1% EXP Boost
Wearing the full set will grant you a 6% experience boost while training Summoning. You can also obtain the Shaman’s headdress add-on and combine it with the Shaman’s headwear to get modified Shaman’s headwear. In addition to the experience boosting effect the modified version also provides free daily spirit shards. The daily spirit shards received depends on how many set pieces the player owns. If all pieces are owned you can receive 500 spirit shards for free daily. In addition to this, it also provides a 5% chance of saving a charm.
Summoning Focus
This item is also a must if you want the fastest experience rates in the game. It provides an extra 20% Summoning experience when making pouches at an obelisk. This bonus combines multiplicatively with other experience buffs. You will need 1 focus for each pouch made so it’s quite expensive.

Pouch Making
For this method of training you will need charms, pouches, spirit shards and the required item to craft the pouch of your choice. You can use familiars to increase the efficiency of this process. Also make sure to wear your weight reducing clothing as you will be running from banks to obelisks all the time.
The obelisks that are closest to a bank are:
Taverley obelisk
Menaphos Merchant district obelisk
Amlodd district obelisk in Prifddinas
If you are using the Prifddinas obelisk, you can take advantage of the attuned crystal teleport seed to move around faster.
Which Charms to Use
Charms have tiers from gold to blue, blue charms are the best ones out of all of them but since charms are untradable, you shouldn’t be spending them willy nilly. It is recommended that you save blue charms to speedrun the later levels.
You should also be wary of the grand exchange prices and decide on the correct pouch by comparing their experience rates and gold per gp.
The number near the name of the pouches, are the number of pouches needed to get to that level, without any experience boosts.

Portable Deposit Box Trick
The most efficient way to train this skill is via an item called a “portable deposit box”. This item can only be obtained through seasonal events and is untradeable. You can also use other peoples deposit boxes if they allow you to do so.
If you want to do this method it is best done during a double experience event. Also you should only use this method at the highest levels making Geyser Titan pouches.
The base experience rate of this method is 11.7M per hour.
Best in Slot Equipment
Shaman’s outfit
Augmented crystal hatchet with Wise 4 and Mobile perks
Spirit onyx
Ring of whispers, necklace of shadows and combined catalyst fragment
Wisdom aura
Summoning cape
Torstol Incense sticks
Inspire awe relic
Summoning focus
How To Do It
Deploy a portable deposit box near the Taverley obelisk or find one that someone else has already deployed.
Withdraw the pouches, shards, charms and 500 of the tertiary item in noted form.
Sell your tertiary items to the shopkeeper named Magestix.
Buy back your items from him, this will un-note those items.
Create your pouches.
Deposit your items using the portable deposit box.
Repeat this process until you use up all your terital items then re-bank and do the same.
Do not sell too many tertial items to the shop as after a while they will despawn.
Doing this method can yield upwards of 15K pouches per hour.
