26. Set up AutoMod
Keeping your server secure should be one of your highest priorities at all times. This is why setting up Discord’s AutoMod is super important. AutoMod is a highlight customizable filter and allows you to control the content of the messages that are being sent to your server. You can set up AutoMod to block the author, warn the author, notify you, or even mute the author upon trying to send a message that you’ve filtered out - even better, AutoMod supports regular expressions.
Aside from being able to control messages, AutoMod lets you filter out usernames. For example, if you want to block a certain word in a username, you can create a filter for it so that when a user joins the server, and the filter catches them, you’ll be notified, and they will be quarantined until they change their username.

27. Integrate a Trial Mod System
Almost all Discord servers have more than a couple moderators and they play a crucial role in server management. Recruiting a moderator can be hard, but realizing that they’re not a good fit after promoting them is worse. This is why you might want to integrate a trial moderator system into your server. As its name suggests, when you decide to recruit a moderator, instead of promoting them to a moderator immediately, you promote them to the trial moderator role. Moderator and trial moderator roles might have different permissions, but it’s not a necessity.
After observing their moderation capabilities as a trial mod, you can decide if you want to promote them to an actual moderator or kindly let them know that they didn’t meet the expectations and they’re going to be demoted.
28. Create Private Voice Channels
Voice channels are one of the primary and most used features of Discord. When you join any Discord server, there’s an incredibly high chance that you’ll see multiple voice channels. One little problem they have is that unless they’re locked behind a role or user-limited, everyone can join them. You might not want a random person to hear that you think the Dark Knight trilogy is overrated - this can be easily fixed by creating private voice channels.
By private, we mean that they have user limits. You can set the voice channel user limits from 1 to infinite. Creating just a few channels with user limits of two, three, or four, you can provide a special place for users who want to talk just with their friends and no one else. Doing this, you prevent them from moving into a group chat, thus keeping your server active.
29. Conduct Partnerships
Making partnership agreements is one of the most popular ways of growing a server on Discord. As its name suggests, a server partnership means that two servers agree to collaborate and post an invite link to each other on one of their channels. This is usually done in a designated “partners” channel where the admin of the partnered server posts a “partner text” along with an invite to the server.
This allows members of the two servers to be aware of the other server and join it. Some partner servers even host joint events that boost the cross-members and activity of each server. The best way to conduct a partnership with another server is by looking at its channels. If there’s a channel like partners or partner-information, you can find the requirements of a partnership, and the next step is getting in contact with a staff member.
30. Create a Role Information Channel
Most public Discord servers tend to have many roles. Since the limit of the roles a server can have is 250, some servers go for it. Although having the freedom to have this many roles sounds great, it can make things harder for regular members. An admin probably knows all the roles, but regular members don’t. This might cause confusion. This is why some servers create a role-information channel that explains what each role means.
Having a role information channel is a great way to let users know what a role does, how they can get it, and other relevant information. If you have a lot of roles that are hard to consume for members, even if you make a list that explains each, you can group the roles and provide a single information line for all of them, rather than explaining each one by one.
